Tommy & Inca

Tommy and Inca arrived home late last night, after we had gone to bed, so we only saw them this morning. While we walked Xena in the rain, Tommy took Inca into the village as she had an appointment for a haircut. Later we went back into Cobham to go for a very light lunch at The Juice Smith, a favourite vegan cafe, and as Inca is vegetarian she loves going there. I had a bowl of pear and parsnip soup while Inca had the Thai squash soup, both were delicious. The men had the vegan Pad Thai. I took this as we left the café, awkward for the kids having to pose in public while I took a photo!

In the afternoon Luke, Meriel and Adam arrived from London - Adam had spent the previous night in London as he had an evening with his university friends. It was lovely to relax and chat - Luke opened the Christmas panettone, and we also have more than half the Christmas cake left, not sure if I will make one next year as no-one really eats much of it. While we were chatting Xena spied a fox on our lawn and went crazy, she shot out of the door like a rocket and it was Xena vs fox as she chased the fox around the garden, Xena is incredible fast but the fox was quicker and got away.

Tonight we are going out for supper to celebrate Tommy's birthday which is on Tuesday when he will be back at university. We are going to a very nice pub in Ripley that is owned by a Michelin starred chef, we have been to his Michelin restaurant a few years ago but tonight it is the pub which serves excellent food.
