An ordinary life....

Dinner out…

When David suggested dinner out I had something more glamorous in mind than a fish supper sitting in the car. But needs must :-))

J sent a message this morning that Alan had slept from 1.30am till 6 am. I think that’s the longest continuous sleep he’s had since he’s been in hospital.

When we arrived at HDU Kevin the nurse told us the good news that Alan would be moving to ward 6. He said he’d even managed to get a smile from him.

Kirsten (support worker) said he’d had a settled morning. He certainly looked a bit brighter.

Half an hour later we were on our way to ward 6 (about 20 paces from where he’d been :-) He’s in a side room that has its own shower and loo. This is great as up till now we’ve had to use the public loo at the main entrance which is miles away from the ward and very creepy at night when the place is all locked up.

Managed to get Alan’s lips and mouth all cleaned again. It definitely brings him some relief.

The staff are lovely in this ward too but we see less of them and that’s fine. Hoping the consultant will be able to give us an idea of progress tomorrow and what to expect over the coming days.

Definitely moving in the right direction though.

And R has taken Lola till Friday so don’t have to worry about her.
