Delicious

Friday night was a late one! Decided to eat in the hotel restaurant for convenience, helped having a 25% off food voucher. First trip in years on the clockwork and range, Glasgow’s iconic subway and a short walk took us to Oran Mor for our first act of the evening. Interesting venue, mostly standing but we were lucky to glad some comfy sofas at the side. Really enjoyed the support act Siomha and the energy of the main act Bab l’Blyz but we agreed that the genre of music wasn’t quite our favourite. The ipa went down rather too well. Taxi down to the Drygate brewery for the late night sessions finished at 2am. Some great acts including Basco and Saltfishforty (2 chaps from Orkney who we’ve seen before) who we had tickets for on the Saturday night plus Ian Carr & friends. It was a great night and I really needed the chilly walk back to the hotel! A collage in extras of Friday’s acts.

Saturday morning was way too early but we had reservations at the Wildson street pantry at 11 so couldn’t stay in bed too long. Far to say we were a little jaded! Breakfast was delicious and really helped wake me up.

Quick walk back to the Drygate for battle of the folk bands (second extra). Tarran were very worthy winners. Back to the hotel for a quick half hour relax before we were off again to the Scallion on Great western road for dinner.

A shirt walk up Maryhill road took us to the Mackintosh Church for the evening entertainment of Basco and Saltfishforty and friends. We managed to get seats upstairs looking into the stage and had a brilliant evening. The red wine I drank definitely helped to perk me up.

Back down Maryhill road to the subway, a nightcap in the pub round the corner from the hotel and hit my bed around 1. Night night.
