An ordinary life....

Smiles better...

Alan is tired but happy.  Actually that could describe the three of us!

David headed to the hospital for 9am to be there for the Consultant doing his rounds, only to discover he wouldn't be on the ward till tomorrow.  He was there for Andrew the physio's first visit of the day though and when Andrew walked in Alan's room, he was greeted by one of Alan's beaming smiles. Poor Andrew has worked so hard on Alan and waited a long time for one of those smiles.  He thought it was well worth it :-))

David came home for lunch again then we both headed back to the hospital.  I also got a lovely smile.  Such a difference in his demeanour.  Andrew popped back in to reduce Alan's oxygen to 0.3 so he's basically just getting a slight draft up his nose now and he's maintaining his levels.  Andrew hopes to remove the oxygen completely tomorrow and monitor how he gets on.  Still hopeful for home on Friday but will know more after discussion with the consultant tomorrow.  We still have concerns about the sores in his mouth and hope something more can be done to heal those.

Alan was content to watch Grease so we watched that together.  He's still exhausted (and will be for a while I suspect) and nodded off a couple of times but always woke with a smile.

We left when it was time for his tummy milk as he said he was tired and would have a snooze after that.

So fingers crossed he is free of the nose plugs tomorrow and heading home on Friday!  Trying not to get my hopes up.

In other news...Happy 227th Birthday Rabbie :-)  Haggis, tatties and neeps on the menu for Saturday.  Thanks for one of the saddest and most beautiful love songs ever...
