The weather today has been somewhat calmer and we even had some sunshine.  However, the disaster continues.  There have now been three deaths, and one person is still missing.  The extent of the damage is huge.  I was in tears watching the news tonight - so many people have lost everything and have had to be evacuated from their homes.  I just can’t imagine how awful that must be. A State of Emergency is still in place.  More heavy rain is forecast for the next two to three days.

We managed to get out for a walk and some fresh air late afternoon.  It was very hot.

The blip shows a small slip on Tamaki Drive between St Heliers and Kohimarama, seaweed washed up on Kohimarama beach, two people sunbathing on St Heliers beach, our view that we can actually see today and sun lighting up clouds this evening just after 7pm.
