A beautiful day in the valley

After a largely dreary, damp and chilly week, Saturday's sun felt like a gift. I didn't get out for a walk until after sunset, but I spent a bit of time in the garden, not doing anything productive but just looking around and reacquainting myself with the seed heads, weeds and trees. I cut some twigs with leaf buds and catkins from P's heaps of prunings to bring into the house; I'm hoping the buds will open, but they are very tight so it will take some time. I love the view in its winter colours, with the hedgerow trees dark and bare against the fields and the pasture astonishingly green.
