Nicky and her Nikon

Avenue of trees

I was still making the bed this morning when the scaffolders arrived to erect the scaffolding for the roofer to fix the leaks in the roof - the roofer will only start next week but at least all the scaffolding in now up, and it's not very attractive all over the front of our house.

Last night we had an enjoyable dinner in the medieval hall of one of the livery companies. Most livery companies have their buildings in the *city, and as the front façade of the building is quite modern you are always taken by surprise when you enter and see the beautiful old interior. the hall where we ate dinner was astounding with wood panelling up the walls and a highly decorated ceiling. The food was excellent too.

* for those not from the UK, the city refers to the square mile in the heart of London where many of the oldest buildings are contained from when London was a Roman settlement.

I was busy with chores at home today, I did quite a few loads of laundry, washing our bedding and also dog blankets and throws (not together of course). I then had to pack as we are leaving early tomorrow morning to go to Norfolk - we have not had a chance to go this year, but Tommy and Inca have been as it is not to far from Cambridge for them.

I took this photo on my dog walk this morning. This avenue is like a green tunnel in the summer, but in winter it is quite different.
