pocketfullononsense

All the small things

The wee ones came in for their morning cuddle. The Youngest was clutching President Teddy, so I grabbed him and started talking nonsense in his voice which made them both giggle. Why don’t I do this more?! So busy “parenting” sometimes that it can be easy to forget that a bit of silliness goes a long way too.

At the request of the wee ones, we went back to the Warhammer store. We’d visited briefly at the weekend and the shop owner had kindly given them both a miniature each to entice them back into the shop. They spent an hour this morning under his on/off tutelage, as they focussed in and delicately painted these two figures (Space Marines). I think they did a cracking job and so happily treated them to a small starter set. We’ll see if this potential new hobby sticks - it certainly beats them staring at screens!

We stared at a screen after a nice lunch out at Kendal’s hottest new joint; Cortillo Lounge (worth a look), as they sat on the edge of their seats to watch the end of Top Gun: Maverick. It really is a great film.

The afternoon was spent getting The Youngest to a climbing party, which mean m’boy and I could take in some of the arcades of Morecambe and enjoy a nice walk along the sea front with a hot chocolate.

The day ended with a heroic intake of pancakes.

I really don’t want to go back to work tomorrow.
