Marjorie's ramblings

The crocus lawn at Wallington

I'm sure you all remember Aesop's fable about the North Wind and the Sun.
I was reminded of it today.

The crocuses on the famous crocus lawn are all in flower,  but not one flower is open. They need sun, not cold wind and rain!

This was my annual pilgrimage to see the crocuses. It was a quick visit while Julie was looking after Mum. As I drove towards home, the sun came out in all its glory!

It's Joe Tree day today. I had to show you the crocuses but I hope your eye is drawn to one of the trees in the image. Where would we be without Blipfoto? Thank you Joe.

The extra is a close up of the tightly closed buds.
