Dragons teeth

Thursday 16 February
Today we hiked the Kapalua coastal trail which runs from the south end of Kapalua Bay to DT Fleming Beach, about 3.75 miles return, and offers spectacular ocean views, with waves crashing onto lava rocks. One of the highlights is Makaluapuna Point and it’s “Dragons teeth”. These were formed as the lava from the West Maui volcano poured into the ocean, and fierce winds and waves forced it back, and it cooled into a formation that resembles giant teeth. You can see other photos from our walk in extra collage, including the first sea turtle we saw in a small cove near one of the resort hotels, blending quite well with the surrounding rocks!
I’ve just posted three back blips from Maui -do check them out!
