Northern concert

Bengt picked me up at 12 today to get us to Byxelkrok, the northernmost village/town on my island, where we gave a concert at three this afternoon. Byxelkrok is hard to pronounce, I'm sure but I can't help you there. The place is 90 km from where I live so it took us a little over an hour to get there. The place is often the sunniest place in Sweden during summer and swarming with tourists. The tourist season is from mid April to October, when several thousand people visit northern Öland. Right now though, only the locals are here, around a 170 people, who remain here all year around.

More than a fourth of the population came to our concert, that's not bad, probably the best crowd we ever had, if you see it that way. In numbers they were somewhere between 50 to 60 people. We all had a great time and they liked what they heard, we also enjoyed meeting them, they were singing along beautifully and we got to talk to many of them during coffee and cakes in the intermission, not much is happening up there this time of year, it felt good to be able to give them something.
Lovely day.
