A little bit more Spring

March is turning out to be a month of appointments. The first one was this morning at the Eye Clinic at Airedale hospital so the usual Monday morning sing had to be abandoned.

My appt was for 9.00am so I was hopeful it might be a quick in and out. It would have been but my eye pressures seemed to be high so I was added to the list to see the Optometrist. I thought I might have to go to the back of the queue but I just had to wait for one lady to come out.

I was told it might just be the machine which one has to wonder about in a hospital but the specialist did his tests and though the results were lower they were still a bit high.

He wrote me a new prescription and sent me off to the pharmacy to get it straight away. A nice lady volunteer accompanied me as she was trying to get her steps in and explained that he pharmacy had moved since yesterday and might be somewhere else again tomorrow! Think there is lots of work going on at the moment. To my dismay the same lady I had followed into the Optometrist was sat waiting for her prescription. So no quick in and out this morning I’m afraid but hopefully the new prescription will have done the trick when I return in 6 weeks.

( Whilst waiting at the pharmacy we could hear someone shouting ‘hello’ behind some screens at the bottom of the corridor. My companion told me it was the morgue! Luckily the ‘hello’ was someone trying to get in not out!)

It was a miserable wet morning so I didn’t miss much. Felt the need of a coffee so we called at Woodbank, the village garden centre, on the way home. When we came out the sun was out so I took the chance to pop into the garden for my blip.

I’m delighted to see these little Iris Reticulata starting to flower. The ones in the pots are a brighter blue and have nearly finished and I’d just about given up on these flowering though the leaves have been visible for quite some time. The early crocus have gone over now but in amongst them you can see Anemone Blanda flowers appearing. The Tete a Tete are looking good too. I’m hopeful there may still be time for the pale blue Iris ‘Clairette’ to appear.

Hair appt this afternoon so that just leaves the dentist next week!
