Change the name . . . .

. . . . . but not the nature! This is Ficaria verna 'Brazen Hussy', a variety of the invasive lesser celandine with dark bronze foliage. As so often, the lesser celandine has had a name change - I remember it as Ranunculus ficaria! Apparently it can also be invasive, and if it seeds about it often loses its bronziness and I suppose begins to revert to the green-leaved type.

I've not been far from the front door today, as in spite of a starry sky last night it turned to rain and has been drizzling away all day. I've been checking through the images for a talk I'm giving on Friday 'Favourite West Coast Gardens'. Scottish ones, that is! Wet ones usually!
