Brancaster Staithe

We woke up to rain, as was forecast. It rained heavily all morning and none of us felt like a walk in that weather, but Gavin gamely took Xena to Brancaster beach for a walk and run around chasing the ball. She hates walking in the rain, but does love the beach and ball so she was reluctant to get out the car at first, but once she was on the beach chasing the ball she did not mind too much. They both came home soaked to the bone!

In the meantime I was busy tidying up and doing loads of washing of the towels and bed linen, and then we went to a local pub for lunch which was really good, better than yesterday's meal. On our way home from lunch the rain had stopped and we even had some sunshine, which is when I took this photo of the yellow rapeseed field (see extra) and the harbour at Brancaster Staithe, at low tide with the boats on their moorings.

We packed up after lunch and everyone said goodbye and set off in various directions. We were all concerned that the traffic would be horrendous being a bank holiday weekend but in fact we had such an easy journey home in under 3 hours with no traffic at all. It was a lovely weekend with two of the boys and we all enjoyed the lovely weather. Now it looks like a week of mixed weather with some rain.
