Hedgehog Cactus Flowers

The only cactus I have seen in bloom so far are the hedgehog cactus. I was lucky enough to come across one completely covered in flowers. This species is the Engelman hedgehog. There are quite a few species of hedgehogs (the plants, not the cute little animal).

A quiet day. Other than a walk in the neighborhood I didn't really accomplish much. I did order a new camera which should be arriving tomorrow. More about that after it lands. (blip fodder?)
