The Leaning Pistache

We’ve had a lot of strong wind this year, including throughout the past week. I’ve watched as my poor backyard pistache tree has gotten hammered. It wasn’t until this afternoon that I realized what a toll the battering had taken. Much like its owner, it’s been knocked about a lot. I’m hopeful that this 3m tall “pole” with leaves will bounce back with me.

In other news…stupid strikes again. I got my hand pinched by my broken hose nozzle. It doesn’t take much for me to bleed. Lesson learned: wear gloves when working in my garden. (Do bushes, cactus and a leaning tree count as a garden?)

I heard that WD-40 would keep mice out of your garden. I tried it. It didn’t work. At least the mice have stopped squeaking.
