In Holy Cross Church

I was in Holy Cross today to make provisional plans for a small photographic exhibition. A group from our Photo Club came to Haltwhistle in February and the pictures taken in and around the church will form the exhibition. It's going to be small be perfectly formed!

Whilst there I took a few extra shots. This is one of the Burne Jones windows. This depicts Moses bidding the serpent-ridden people of Israel to gaze upon the brazen serpent in order to be healed. It represents men looking to the Crucified One to be saved from the death of sin in the wilderness of this world. (Info from the church web site). Notice the detail in the serpents but also in the fabrics.) I find it quite creepy to say the least.

Off to the People's Theatre tonight with one of those who snoozed during yesterday's play. J sent me an indignant email to point out that she was awake throughout the second half of the play - and jolly good it was too")
