Manchester

Could t sleep last night and eventually got up at 3.30 and went downstairs to remove a dress and 2 pairs of shoes/sandals from the cases. We were quite close to the weight limit and it was preying on my mind!
Eventually fell asleep after 4. Must be the excitement.

Up to get showered and finish packing the carry on bags, wash the dishes, put a washing on so the basket is empty when we get back, sort out the fridge (which necessitated cleaning the fridge as about a centimetre of water had gathered under the vegetable drawer) and clean the bathrooms.

We got on the road just after 10 and passed a pleasant hour with our son and his wife in a coffee shop. They were in Edinburgh to sell their unrequited second car so it was too good an opportunity to pass up a chance to chat.

Journey to Manchester was fairly straightforward and we arrived at the airport just before 4. I love the idea of dropping off your hold baggage the day before you fly, it’s so easy! We were in and out inn20 minutes. Checked in to the hotel and discovered I’d neglected to bring any clean underwear so we headed to a nearby shopping centre.

A tasty seafood grill (prawns, salmon and sea bass) for dinner at a pub just beside the Concorde centre and back to the hotel. I had a nice 40 minute walk to burn off my sticky toffee pudding and we’re now in the hotel bar for a wee nightcap.

Thank you for your good wishes. I’ll blip early tomorrow and probably turn off comments until I get WiFi again.
