Admirable

..Mirabile in French.

BackBlip from Friday lunchtime - pre Any Questions  (so much going on for me at the moment - too much really). Free (Donations) as usual  concert by another excellent choir (all female)  from Nottingham.

The Quire was packed (people also sitting in the side passages). Given the capacity and occassion, I choose to sit in The Deans seat right at the back. This edited picture makes the Quire look much larger than it is in reality. E2 also.

A mixed programme of Bob Chilcott, the outstanding piece was

Making Waves - Sung improvised as the composer intended, so every performance is unique

A Little Jazz Mass was also of particular note. Richard Cox was excellent especially during this piece.

This choir will feature in this years Southwell Music Festival - which generally features professionals from London. They'll be an excellent addition.

TODAY!

Really enjoyed the Vasari singers again at Cathedral Eucharist service and at a packed Evensong. A large choir the greater volume was a nice change; Mirabile also had their own very distinct style.

Extra 1 shows the Vasari Musical Director pre Evensong - his hood was a wonderful contrast in white, but out of shot unfortunately.
