Small town blues

Today my brother and I had decided to visit Henley-on-Thames, home of our forebears.

After we'd arrived we went for a wander along the riverside and were astonished to find a new crazy golf course set around models of famous Henley buildings. As nobody was golfing we were able to walk around - this is St Mary's church . My extra shows Friar Park, former home of the late and great Beatle, George Harrison.

We had arranged to meet a relative for lunch, but owing to a mix-up with times it didn't work out. We'd also invited Arnold, a former member of staff of our grandfather's furniture removal business - he's 88 and full of humorous stories of his working days, including the one about carrying a piglet in a removals van full of furniture!

During the afternoon we were visiting a friend in the town when the heavens opened! The ride home was not pleasant - floods everywhere and massive spray on the motorway!

Maybe I should have stayed in Argyll where the sun always shines!
