Lilies of the Valley

Before I packed my camera, I went round the garden to make a record of what it looked like before we left. I’m always amazed at how quickly everything grows in the three weeks that we’re away.

No doubt these emerging lilies of the valley will be past their best by mid May, but as we’re heading for a Lake District valley that’s very dear to our heart, it will more than compensate for missing these!

I’ve left copious instructions for The Traveller, who is house sitting for us, as to how I want my garden birds looked after. He was underwhelmed by my enthusiasm and teased me that he’d do the opposite of what I asked, but I know he will be brilliant. He’s a very kind soul underneath the insouciant exterior.
