Eyebrows?

The shot of the beetle a couple of days ago was with the wrong lens, so this one is maybe with the right one. It gives a closer view of those antennae (well at least I think they are antennae). You can see that there are fibres on them. Perhaps they act like gyroscopes to help them fly? I believe it is a Cockchafer or 'Maybug' (Melolontha melolontha).

I had a few other shots, maybe nicer than this one, but maybe this is more interesting to see. There were plenty of moths, a crane fly, a snail and a ladybird on the mint and on the grass close by.

It is very quiet with plenty of sun today and the barometer isn't showing rain.
