The Rhododendron Show

I attended the Scottish Rhododendron Society's annual show today, some 70 miles away at Garelochhead. I thought it might have been postponed because of the Coronation, but apparently the hall had been booked and the event publicised before the date of the Coronation was announced, so it was decided to go ahead. Somebody said that with Charles being such a plant and garden lover he might have phoned the SRS to ask when the show was to be held so that he could avoid clashing with it!

This picture was taken during the prize-giving, which explains why some people are clapping! It was great to see many old friends - in both senses of the word - so a lot of talking took place and I even missed having lunch!

The roads were quiet today - maybe all the tourists were indoors watching the Coronation! So that's it for another year!
