a lifetime burning

Tongue Tip

It is a Bank Holiday here in the UK, so naturally we have bursts of heavy rain and a fair bit of cloud cover.  It's not actually raining all the time though - there was even a brief lightening of the sky a while back, almost as if there was a sun up there somewhere.  But it is one of those days where you feel that, if it's not actually raining where you are at the moment, it will be shortly.

I've caught the chaffinch as he slows up to land, he's coming in towards a ground feeding tray just off screen, hence the look of anticipation on his face and that tiny tongue just evident in his open beak.  You probably need to look in large to see that detail.  As you can see, he's a very prettily coloured Finch at this time of year.

There's an extra of a bunny that seems to have found somewhere dry to shelter when it is actually raining.
