Lucky Man

True to form, the weather faired up again today, now the Bank Holiday was over. Another quiet day but I did have a PT Session before lunch. As I’m off on holiday next week, the trainer made sure I got a thorough workout!
This afternoon I checked we had all the tickets and booking confirmations for our trip away. All was looking good until I checked the tickets for the concert in Manchester on the 14th. Yep, it was definitely the 14th. But the 14th June, not the 14th May. Not quite sure how I got it wrong - it’s written in all diaries and calendars as 14th May, but the tickets and the venue’s website bear testament to the fact that it is June. As we’ve already paid for the hotel, we’re committed to a night in Manchester so had to find something else. Luckily I spotted that the same venue had the brilliant guitar player Joe Satriani in concert that night and there were a few tickets left. Crisis averted, though at a cost of £100! And we still have the concert on the 14th June to look forward to!
We popped down to Asda to check the car tyres and then went next door to B&Q for some compost and possibly some more plants. Another bit of luck was arriving at the airline to find it still whirring away - the previous user obviously hadn’t needed the full five minutes they got for their 50p and there was actually enough left to do all our tyres as well.
My luck did run out when getting the compost though. Best value seemed to be a single 100L bag, but the workout this morning had obviously taken more out of me than I thought. I got the bag into the trolley, but realised there was no way I was going to get it out again! So I abandoned that trolley, got a fresh one and then selected the second best value combination of 3 for 2 on the 50L bags. Those I could manage to manhandle without pulling anything!
Probably ought to spend some time packing for our holidays tomorrow. All I’ve got so far is five library books - and two of them, I have a sneaking suspicion I’ve read before!
