Oh deer!

Another dull day - our garden stair builder returned to level a paving slab and will come back to replace another one in front of the greenhouse. Did a bit more potting and playing with plants.

After lunch Mrs M and I went to Dunollie, she for her sewing group and me to meet the gardener and sort out what we need to do with the new shrubs. We decided to make a start on the wire mesh and made up the first three cylinders which we need to keep the deer off! As we finished the first one along came Robin McDougall, so we tried out the cylinder on him. Not a single deer came near him so they obviously work!

There'll be a lot more to make, and in the meantime I'll have to look at some of the shrubs substituted for those our local garden centre couldn't supply, and make sure that the sites chosen for the originals will suit the substitutes. Then the planting will begin!
