Red

An appropriate day for the colour red as it is Pentecost. We had a very nice service at church this morning even though I had a very long reading to do. Being a Bank holiday weekend there weren’t very many people in the congregation.

This is the 500 piece jigsaw I bought at The Burrell just over a week ago. How could I resist. It is Degas’ The Red Ballet Skirts’.
A bit of a challenge to do but I really enjoyed it.

I agree with PaulaJ that doing these jigsaws really shows you how the artist worked. I know nothing about art but spending this amount of time putting pieces together you can’t help but see the detail of the mix of colours and brush strokes used to create the effect. Seeing the painting itself is of course the best thing but you rarely have the chance to study it for so long.

A much cooler and cloudier day today but Chris has been out watering.

We had a photo from the family enjoying ice creams at a Pizza place where they’d stopped  en route to Scotland. They had a food order pick up to make in Inverness between 7.00 pm and 8. Don’t know if they made it but they didn’t get to Tigh Beag ( the wee hoose) on the Coigach peninsula until 11.30 pm!

Instead of son Alex coming for tea as usual we are taking him out to Haworth for a curry. Looking forward to it.

Enjoy Bank holiday Monday if you’re in the UK.
