Tile Hall

Looking out now there is a lovely blue sky and sunshine but it has taken nearly all day for the cloud to be burned off.

We weren’t too bothered as we had plans to go into Leeds but it was quite cool.

With rail strikes starting tomorrow I needed to get into Leeds to collect and return a parcel and, as our Pilates teacher is on holiday, today was the ideal day.

We headed straight up to Leeds Art Gallery and the Tile Hall Cafe for a coffee and a scone. Such a lovely room with, as suggested by the name, decorative tiles everywhere. The ceiling tiles have a lot of gold in them and sparkle under the panel framing lights. The archways each have the bust and name of a poet. Where we were sitting I could see Scott (Chris is in the yellow jumper in the blip). Next to him above the counter on the right you can see Burns.

We then wandered down the Headrow to the Victoria Quarter. A few items reduced in John Lewis made their way into my bag and I did my parcel swap. Back home by early afternoon.

We don’t go very often but it is good to be able to get in and out of the city quickly and easily on public transport.
