After the rain, the sun...

Today we woke to rain. It rained and rained. It poured and poured. And then it stopped. The garden has been drinking deeply and is very happy. By evening, it was back to gorgeous sunshine, as bright as any we've had this past week.

The sinking sun shone brightly through a surviving poppy as a bee approached. Was so pleased with this shot, even though the camera shows the pale mauve outer petals as white. And even though the bee looks cut and pasted. (It isn't. The intense light kind of outlined it. But it's straight from the camera.) The Extras' diptych shows the same bee inside the poppy.

Had a regular blood-test at the doctor's this morning, taken by a wonderful phlebotomist, who got my blood flowing at the first attempt. No bruises. Yay! (I only have one viable vein, so it's sometimes problematic.) I had drunk lots of tea beforehand. Otherwise it's been a day of ironing, crochet and cleaning, and that's about it.

Thanks to Jenny (jensphotos) for hosting the Tiny Tuesday challenge.
