Marjorie's ramblings

Saturday

Yes, this is a back blip. I was too tired to download any images after another excellent day on The Faroe Islands.

It was our last official day. We made our way to Torshavn, the capital city, with a few stop offs en route.

Here I am in a village near Torshavn where there was a conveniently placed mirror so you can see more of the houses with living roofs.

There were many vivid colours amongst the boats and great details.

At one viewpoint, way above the sea, the mist was drifting. By the time we had grabbed our cameras, the sea and the island opposite were completely blanked out. Another photographer drove off. Five minutes later the mist had moved on!

Torshavn is a shock to the system because it is relatively large and busy. Our hotel is near the harbour where a noisy pop festival played last night!

We are also near to the government buildings. I liked the detail on the steps of the second extra.

We had our last meal together. Ian, Marv and Laurence are flying early in the morning. Alun, Sally, Elina and I have a day to ourselves.
