Celastrina argiolus - Holly Blue

A pit stop at a muddy puddle on Acorn Field lane.

An early visit to the plot. Thinned beetroot & carrots, replanted the carrot seedlings (probably a waste of time but nothing ventured ..... as they say), lifted a hulm of Verity, just Googled, it's a late maturing variety, probably should not be lifting quite so early then .. hey ho!!! George & Jean will enjoy them I'm sure. Pulled rhubarb, picked a few peas.
Haircut before walking Indie this morning.
Did'nt stop for coffee as I'm gardening for G&J and like to eat lunch early.
G&J's at 1pm, gardened til 5pm. Always plenty to do, accompanied by lots of banter from both. They have a large garden to tend for 90plus year olds, but George wants to clear a corner behind a huge oak tree, not easily accessible by a man with very poor eyesight & wobbly legs,  "to store stuff". Stuff that should go in the bin. He's trodden down 2 plants that Jean asked me to plant there as he' can't see them.  She's not happy.  He's on a tidying up mission.
Home to a cider & tennis before making dinner.
