Life is a Challenge!

WHAT A VERY SILLY SATURDAY!

Hello Lovely Blippers,

Mrs. HCB went to see her physiotherapist yesterday evening and because of certain symptoms was advised to visit the Urgent Care department at the local hospital immediately, which she did - we have to admit, it’s not often she does as she’s told!  That was why she didn’t even give out any stars last night and by the look of her being so zonked out, we don’t think she will be doing much tonight either.

She told us that she spent over 2 hours there last night and then was sent home and told to return today to have an MRI scan - she wasn’t that worried because she thought it would at least get her into the hospital system.  However, she had to be there at 7.30 a.m.  We were a bit miffed because we wanted to go with her and Mr. HCB, but he said he was just going to leave her there - well I guess he thought he could watch the cricket in peace - so that’s what happened.  However, the MRI scan wasn’t done until 10.45, so there was a lot of waiting around.

Then she said the doctor came and he said that they had sent the MRI scan to the Neurological Department at Oxford and she would have to wait until their comments came back before she could go home.  Well, the time went on and on and eventually after 11 hours of being at the hospital, she was allowed to come home.  However, she still doesn’t know anything about the scan results and will have to wait until she sees the Spinal Team in the next few weeks.

She eventually rang Mr. HCB to ask him to come and collect her at 6.15, so 11 hours since she first got there this morning.  We were so thrilled to see her that we jumped all over her and you can see us in the top shot in this collage.

Underneath are two Lindt chocolates she found in her bag and she was delighted because she had had nothing to eat for a long time, but after she had eaten them, a nurse came along and gave her some lunch, which she was very pleased to have.

The bottom right view in the collage was Mrs. HCB’s view for most of the 11 hours she was at the hospital and in the middle there is a shot of Mr. HCB when they went out for a meal tonight.

We are so glad that Mrs. HCB is back, so we piled on top of her while she was sleeping.  Mr. HCB took a photograph - how silly is that - but we think that dear Admirer would love to see us all around Mrs. HCB and encouraging her.  We know she has encouraged lots of people who came into Kingfisher Ward today - and one lady in particular, Jan, had an operation on her wrist which was very painful, so Mrs. HCB said that before and afterwards she tried to keep Jan’s spirits up.  There were others too and as Mrs. HCB told us, she had the dubious honour of being the one who had been in the ward the longest.  Despite being there for 11 hours, she was so thankful for all the NHS did for her today, so it’s THREE CHEERS FOR THE NHS - Hip Hip Hooray, Hip Hip Hooray, Hip Hip Hooray!

With love to you all,

The Silly Saturday Gang
