FULL ENGLISH AT THREE TREES ON SILLY SATURDAY

Hello Lovely Blippers, or I should say in my best Kansas accent, Howdy Y’all?

This is Baby Jay here and I have been given the task of writing this today to tell you all about the wonderful breakfast the HCBs and all of us had at Three Trees Café, which is next to the Farm Shop at Chiseldon, near Swindon.

We heard Mr. and Mrs. HCB chatting last night, mostly about cricket, so we quickly “switched off” but as soon as we heard Mrs. HCB say “Well, if you’re not going to cricket tomorrow, perhaps you would like to take me out for breakfast!”  Mr. HCB said he would be delighted, so we knew we would be on to a good thing if we could tag along.

Mrs. HCB was up bright and early, showered and waiting to go at 8.45 and so were we!  We can guess when something good is gonna happen!

Three Trees Café is only a few minutes from where the HCBs live, so it didn’t take long and when we got there, Mrs. HCB spoke to one of the waitresses, the lovely Hanna, and asked if we could have a photoshoot on one of the tables.  It’s true to say that she looked a little surprised, but once Mrs. HCB had told her about Blip, she was quite happy to let us all sit on the table before our breakfast to have our photograph taken.  I also wanted to let Gina and Connie, her friend, know what I have been up to since they were here last September.

Mrs. HCB mentioned to Hanna that I was from Kansas, given to her by a lovely friend called Gina, and also the reason I was called Baby Jay.  She also told Hanna that very often they had a plateful of waffles and maple syrup in the US, so asked if there were any on the Menu today.  Hanna said that sadly there weren’t and said they had been “taken off” a few weeks ago.  I said that in that case, I would go for the Full English, just like the HCBs were going to have and I have to say I was not disappointed.  They certainly know how to do a breakfast at Three Trees!  We also had toast and marmalade, something that hasn’t yet caught on in the US and I quite liked it - tangy but sweet - and the Cappuccino coffee, as you can see, was delicious too and I ended up with foam all round my mouth.

We had a great time together and had to explain to one or two people that Mrs. HCB isn’t mad - well, that took some doing, I can tell you - but all in all, we had a wonderful time and we know that Admirer would have loved it there - not sure how she would have coped with a Full English though!  Fortunately, there weren’t too many children there that early, or we might have found one or two of us missing, but when Mrs. HCB counted up as we were leaving, she was pleased to see that we were all present and correct.

We wanna say thank you to ALL the staff at Three Trees Café, who are always very kind, so the HCBs tell us, but especially today a SHOUT OUT to the lovely HANNA, - and Mrs. HCB checked on the spelling of your name -  who looked after us so well.  We hope you get the results you need to get into Southampton University and Swindon’s loss will be Southampton’s gain, but we are sure you will be home in the holidays, so we will look out for you. However, we hope to see you again before you go off in September.

It’s safe to say that the HCBs won’t be wanting too much to eat for the rest of the day and nor will we!

Have a great week, lovely Blippers - I’mma gonna mosey on out with the rest of the Silly Saturday Gang and remember to be kind - some people are going through things you know nothing about!

Love to you all,
Baby Jay and the Silly Saturday Gang xxx

P.S.  If ever you are near Swindon, do call into Three Trees Café - and there is a wonderful Farm Shop next door - or better still, let the HCBs know and they will meet you there - you won’t be disappointed!

P.P.S.  You and I know that Mrs HCB loves “different” words - here are two from Kansas - “gullywasher,” which denotes heavy rain and there has been a lot of that here today, and “cattywampus,” which means something does not line up in a straight line - hope you like them both.
