An ordinary life....

The last day of July...

Began with a skip arriving.

I hadn't realised the arrival of a skip could cause so much excitement but I was over the moon to see it and can't wait to get the clear out of the garage started tomorrow :-)

Not long after the skip arrived I got the photo of Esme at Prestwick airport.  She and her mum and dad are heading out to Spain to join Ele and Kenny.  They are all looking forward to some sunshine.  We're all rusting here with the rain!

Carole arrived at 10am to trim Lola and Lola was hyper seeing her!  She was literally jumping shoulder height!  Of course she was not too happy when the trimming began but a steady supply of treats made sure she complied long enough to emerge beautifully trimmed (especially her feet which looked as though they belonged to a Yeti!)  Unfortunately R arrived to take her out for a walk about 10 minutes later, and she returned an hour later soaking wet.

Alan was just as happy as Lola to see Carole.  This pair go back a long way (they first met when Alan was 7 months old and began attending the Craighalbert Centre, where Carole worked.)

D, Carole and I had some brunch then D headed to Dundee to buy a new suit for Emily's wedding.  It's six years since he retired and the couple of work suits he kept are past their best, so a new one is required.  Carole I remained at home, drinking more tea and chatting.  Lovely to catch up with her.

Carol headed off and not long after D returned.  He has successfully ordered a new suit but won't pick it up till the 9th August as it required alterations.  He asked the sales assistant what size the trousers were and she replied "your size Sir" hahahahahaha!

Before he returned D also met up with Andrew and his mum and brought Andrew back with him.  He's staying with us till Wednesday.  Alan was delighted to see him and they headed off for a hydrotherapy session, which sounded hilarious.  Music blasting out and lots of splashing and laughter.  Poor Penny and D were in the pool with them and got soaked!

Once dinner was over I set about making Andrew's favourite Malteser slice.  I had planned to make it yesterday so it was ready for him arriving, but my lie in meant I ran out of time.  He'll probably want some for breakfast!

Off to bed now.  A busy day tomorrow!
