Silly Saturday

Anyone who saw my blip last Saturday will no doubt have been waiting with baited breath to see how we got on mounting the larger of the two new radiators as part of our bedroom revamp, especially as it weighs half as much again as the smaller one which we hung last weekend.

Well, the Lego men heard us discussing the problem and kindly offered to help. However only one of them was a proper workman - you can see him doing his best to hold up the radiator with one hand, with a spanner in the other hand. Two others decided that filming the episode was more important than helping, so on the left you can see the movie director, and next to him is the cameraman: quite why they thought they needed walkie-talkies to liaise with each other when they were standing together I don't know - it does seem a bit silly.

As you can see they needed a platform to work from so we arranged a pile of books to support it. We didn't want them working from ladders - one has to consider health and safety issues and do a risk assessment first.

In the end it was all a bit much for them but fortunately we were able to call on the services of Merlin who popped along promptly: with a flick of his wand and a magic spell the job was done. We should have thought of calling on his services in the beginning!

(OK That's not really what happened. Son#3 kindly came round and gave me a hand. He's signifcantly stronger than his Mum who helped me last week so we managed fine, with no casualties!)

The Silly Saturday challenge is, of course, held in memory of its originator and first host, the lovely Admirer. On the first Saturday of each month we organise a host to award Hearts and Honourable Mentions and it's my pleasure to be the host this time. If you'd like to host sometime and have a good chuckle, just like Admirer used to do, then let me know either via a blip comment or email to davidcblipper@gmail.com. Blipper 60plus has kindly volunteered for September but all the months after that are currently vacant - so go on, have a go - it's great fun!
