A day at the Fringe

Well not a whole day. Usual swim in the morning, then after a bit of fading around down to the Manor to do some necessary work plus making an appointment for a health check. Her GP practice still has open surgeries, very inefficient, so no morning surgeries. The health check has to be in the morning. Result: one afternoon the GP, following morning the health check. This is bonkers.

They into town. First to return stuff to M&S then the Arbikie gin tasting. Had a good chat about gin and family history with a New Yorker white clown in 2 hours previously. Family from Shotts. We both liked the vodka and the AK gin.

It overran and I had a dash to the Book Festival. Stupidly I decided to take the bus some of the way, the bus that sat stationary in Lothian Rd for ages. I got off and walked, quickly, and got ushered through, as they closed the door. I watched a bit of it on the screen, Karine Polwart, but it was breezy so I headed to get food.

Had meze in Rojava, the Middle Eastern restaurant opposite the EICC. Last show of the day was Harry Hill's rock opera 'Tony'. Funny and the singing was amazing. The guy who played Mandy (and Fick Cheney and Alastair Campbell) was especially good.  The chorus at the end owed a lot to 'Springtime with Hitler,'.

Walked up to Tollcross and waited ages for a 47. It was showing 'due' for about 7 minutes. Decided if probably hit the end of the Usher Hall concert and given how busy it was it had been stuck there.

The town is heaving.
