The Gang's All Here!

They're back! Momma Merganser and her 14 babies..but they don't look much like babies now! 

Today was cold and blustery - with the wind coming from the north. Brrr. No outdoor showers or bathing in the lake today...Tomorrow is the day that my daughter and SIL return and the good new is that they are intending to bring a new hot water tank with them....Hot water just might be in our future! 

Spending so much time indoors today keeping warm meant that both my sister and I actually made progress on our needlework projects...which is a rare occurrence. We usually bring these unfinished projects to the cottage thinking that with all that free time on our hands, we will actually work on them.. but, we soon realize why they we left them unfinished in the first place! There was frustration, yes, and a fair bit of complaining about patterns and charts, but we stuck with it and did end up with something to show for our efforts.

The cold day ended with a cold but clear night with a brilliant moon but any attempts I made to capture it in the sky with its light coruscating across the water failed..utterly. I do need to figure out this new camera..perhaps that could be another project to fill free time at the cottage?
