Blue Geranium

The clump of blue geraniums at the corner of the shed began flowering yesterday and I went for a picture of one of the flowers from the underneath, with the sun shining through its petals. I was pleased with the results I got and chose this one to blip.

Of course the disadvantage of this type of photography is that you have to lie on your back with your head pushed into the foliage of the flowers - and all the biting little creatures that live there think it's Christmas! It was also really awkward getting far enough under the flower to get out of the minimum focusing distance of the lens. When I remembered the Wimberley Plamp which I got for Christmas, it became much easier!

Beautiful day - wall to wall sunshine. Watched the occasional small cloud burn off within a couple of minutes. Went and did some dandelion and bramble wrestling at the mother-in-law's for a couple of hours in the morning and then we picked our daughter up from work and went for lunch at the garden centre. Delicious ploughmans and huge piece of cake for afters.

Of course, we had to buy some plants and I bought some lupin seeds to try and grow (thanks Jen60!) and put forty into seed trays, putting the rest into the garden to take their chance with the slugs and snails.

Hope you all managed to take advantage of the weather and did something exciting.
