Betty Blue, Martin, Shaun and the Humidor

A quick blip from my continuing radio silence to say all is well.

After much waiting, and postponements, I am finally in the middle of the long awaited delivery voyage for yacht Betty Blue bound to Dartmouth from Bristol.

Dawn in day 3 saw us in Padstow inner harbour after a night on the Doombar (that is thankfully the beer not the infamous sandbank).

No sign of Rick Stein last night, though the man serving in the Sole Train fish n chip shop last night was the spitting image.

Whilst awaiting the bread and pastie shop to open this morning we got into chatting with Shaun here who was out for a spin in his newly aquired Saab softtop. He was taking a picture of us for his blog, so we reciprocated.

Seen here is skipper Martin (left) and Shaun with his much-prized cigar humidor that he always carries on the boot of the car. Had a long chat with Shaun and heard all about life as both Stone and Freemason. With his accent and stories of antique swords and £1500 deals reminded me of Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

Made the mistake last night of sending our trips blog address to Martin's wife. She had already forwarded it on to her parents when I realised I had got the Betty Blue blogspot url address wrong and it took them to an Amsterdam website of almost the same name, but entirely different content.

I am bailing out tomorrow at St Ives and Martin and Useful Dave will continue on to Dartmouth.

Beautiful hot sunny day in prospect, but probably light winds. Hope to get in a bit of fishing if Useful Dave will allow me.
