Life in Sunny Dubai

The S142

(10/9/23)

On Thursday evening, when the GPS lady took us on a detour to avoid congestion on the E611, we discovered a new road running from East to West. I immediately said we needed to explore the route in the winter. Having been homebound all day on Friday, G suggested doing the drive on Saturday, so we woke early and left home at 6:30.

It was great to be out early. Firstly, it was cool(er) - in the low 30s. The S124 goes through some beautiful countryside. G took loads of photos. I've chosen four - the Rafisah Dam, which we definitely have to go back to in the winter, the Khor Fakkan amphitheatre, the view from the breakfast room of the Oceanic Hotel and the approach to the longest of the five tunnels that significantly shortens the journey to Khor Fakkan.

We were home by 12:30, in time for a nap and then cruised into the rest of the day. One of the things was driving to Park & Shop to get some ham. I also needed to pop into Wafi to get some tablets. So glad we've got another day off tomorrow. I posted my 99th video before finally switching off.

PS. Best of all - it rained quite a bit on our way to breakfast!
