The old ways

I only took one photo today because I was engrossed in making.  I was chopping mortises in these muckle pieces of fence-ish post. I managed to make six, so only ten to go now.  The first four were speeded up somewhat on the pillar drill, but it's not quite big enough to cope with 4 inch stock so I went back to manual mode for the next two, including this one, and bashed away for ages.

It kind of turned out nicer in the afternoon and I probably should have gone out. If it hadn't been raining all morning I would have done a day trip on the bike, but the destination will still be there for another weekend.
