BLIPMEET - NEWCASTLE

Met up with blipper Chris ( 60plus  ) and her husband Roy in Newcastle this morning.  First port of call was Cinnabon -  a newly opened cafe near Greys Monument,  We had a nice long chat whilst enjoying our coffees.(  Chris had a Mini Bon -  a smaller version of cinnamon roll. It looked yummy )

Then we walked downhill to the River Tyne, crossed over the Millennium Bridge and went up to the viewing window on the 5th floor of The Baltic Art Gallery.  From here you get a wonderful view of the River and some of the bridges. You can also see The Glasshouse International Centre for Music on the left.  It used to be called The Sage but recently there's been a name change.   They are building a new Arena/conference Centre nearby and that will be called The Sage.

We crossed back over the Millennium Bridge and spotted one of the Shaun The Sheep statues ( this one is called. North Star)  There are Shauns all around Newcastle - but only till 24th September.  In October they will be auctioned off for charity.

Then we headed uphill back into the centre of town. Then we went our separate ways -  Chris and Roy had shopping to do in M& S and I wanted to get some food in Tesco.  Great to see them both and as usual we had a lovely time.   Check out Chris's blip for more photos.

I've added an Extra of the  lovely mural on the wall in the Cinnabon Cafe.

Was quite tired when I got home so I relaxed for a while and watched TV.  Then I did a few chores and at 5.30pm it was time for more walking --- to slimming group and back.  No lift this week as M is away with work. I'm pleased to report I lost 2 pounds this week so I'm back into my target range.

The weather today was dry and sunny but rather chilly in the wind - especially down by the river.

Steps today - 18,781
