Seasonal 2

Chris needed to source his ingredients for luncheon club tomorrow so I went with him to Bingley this morning.

I know that this tree near Bingley Arts Centre, on the edge of the Market Square, is always early to show colour so walked down to take photographs whilst he was shopping. Behind it you can see the Market Hall and Buttercross.
Bingley got its market charter in 1212 under King John. It’s possible that this dates from then. In my lifetime it has rightly been moved back into the centre of town by the civic trust having been cast out to the Prince of Wales park many years ago. At least it was preserved.

Whilst in town we decided to gave coffee in the newly opened Bingley Tea Rooms, formerly Costa. It’s much lighter and brighter inside so I hope it does well though it has to be said there are in number in the town including two high street chain food shops offering coffee and outdoor tables immediately next door.

The rain has arrived since getting home, the winds of Storm Agnes on their way. The storm is said to be seasonal rather than exceptional and this picture is to show the changing season here in the northern hemisphere at the moment as we move into Autumn as suggested by today’s Wide Wednesday challenge.

Chris’s beef stew smells great, shame I’m not getting it for tea!
