Cyclamen under our Cotinus bush

It now looks as though Smithers’ third eye operation will take place next Thursday. It seems that anaesthetists are striking from Monday to Wednesday as well as  consultants so, despite Smithers’ consultant being willing to operate as soon as possible, nothing can happen without an anaesthetist. The hospital have said they will confirm on Monday. This is cutting it a bit fine for our eldest son, who has driven home to Hampshire today and is intending to return in time for the operation.

He’s due in court in person (in his capacity as a barrister, I hasten to add!) on Wednesday, so he needs to know pretty soon what’s happening. He’s already had to cancel one court case to come and support us, and conduct another online from our house, so he needs a firm date for the operation as early as possible.
