The Golfer Returns...

Backblip

I was downstairs pretty early considering my late night.  Not much clearing up to do as we'd been very good and loaded the dishwasher after dinner.  Just some glasses to hand wash.

I was just about to have a bowl of cereal when Ele appeared, then not long after her, Gail.  Ele's husband Kenny messaged to say there were all packed and ready to head home.  He and pal Stephen were flying into Glasgow Airport, landing early afternoon.  David and the rest of the golfers (Jim, Alan and Keith) were on a later flight to Edinburgh airport landing at 7.30pm, so didn't expect D home before 9pm.

Before she arrived here yesterday Gail popped to the High Street to order venison from our local butcher (she's heard me singing his praises :-) Thankfully she wanted it for a meal she's making for friends next month and not having to eat it within a few days of eating my venison casserole :-) so since the sun was shining, she headed off to walk down to the collect her order.

When she returned she was full of praise for our little High Street and the park at the end of our street.  It's always lovely when people appreciate your locality.  We certainly love it here :-)

Lunch was a repeat of last night's starter of smoked mackerel pate, Italian meats, hummus, crudités, olives, oatcakes, sourdough and garlic and basil dipping oils.  We enjoyed it just as much second time around.

Chatted more over coffee and watched some of the Ryder Cup.  Europe in the lead.  Yay!  :-)) Then we had a wander in the garden as Ele and Gail were keen to see the new plants.

And then it was time for them to head home and await the return of the golfers.  Mind showed up just before 9pm announcing he'd ordered pizzas and they would be delivered at 9.30pm.  I had assumed he would eat on the plane but apparently not.  Luckily I hadn't had any dinner as we'd had a late lunch, so I enjoyed the pizza and not having to cook :-)

Shared some stories of our week's adventures but as we were both shattered so decided to save the best of the stories till tomorrow.
