Hospital day. Entering the Unit we noticed an immediate difference, all the staff were masked. Nationally the advice is that no staff need wear masks, but as of yesterday the staff here have decided unilaterally that they are going to. Covid is on the rise again (staff have already caught it), and we are entering the flu and cold season, so they want to protect patients. Reassuring from our point of view (we always mask coming in anyway).,

I had a trip out from the hospital, to Chester Zoo, twenty or so minutes away. I’ve taken out an annual membership as my visits may be brief, so I’ll make a few visits and focus on different things each time. The Humboldts Penguins are popular. They are a species living in the cold water coastal areas of Peru. Like all penguins their bodies are superbly adapted to an aquatic life,
