Wound up in Wexford

Guess what they're watching

A warm, and intermittently sunny day.  B arrived early, hoping to get the rest of the hedge cutting done.  He hadn't quite finished by the time he had to leave at 4ish but the work he has done has made a considerable change to the front garden - will be blipped.

We drove through gathering mist to Rosslare Strand to collect B and P, then on to the countryside south of Rosslare - where T and S provided a lovely dinner for 6.

B and P are long standing friends of W, who moved to Ireland from South Africa a good many years ago.  It was purely chance that we ended up in a house nearby, but good to have their local contacts.  T and S are an international couple, who have also settled in Ireland recently, at least in part due to Brexshit.  They are friends with B and P, who introduced us because they are involved in local music activities.

After dinner, we watched some rugby.  For a reason that escaped me, B was supporting Scotland, but the rest of us were supporting our adopted country.

In the blip, B, T, W and S.  P was sitting too far away for me to include her without disturbing everyone.

W's cataract ops have successfully meant he can now, albeit with some unease, tackle night driving, so he volunteered to be responsible for the drive home in the dark, allowing me to enjoy a couple of glasses of wine.  It was a very misty drive home, but W had thoughtfully put the outside lights on before we left, so we returned to a very welcoming house.
