Hanging on!

These Cosmos here at the back of the house and similarly at the front are still making a good show. Not complaining but having planted up the back garden corner with a selection of mixed daffodils and planted several pots with Narcissus, including the new RHS one Avalon, Chris is waiting to use these pots to plant up the Tete a Tete’s for next Spring.
Very reluctant to pull these out as even our frost on Saturday doesn’t seem to have done them much harm and they look so cheery.

Singing this morning, a pick and mix of this seasons songs for the last time in class as we start with songs for you know what next Monday - begins with a capital C!

We’ve just had an electrician to look at our oven. Chris put a new element in after it blew when we got back from Sussex last week but it blew again. He’s sorted it for not a fortune which is great! He’s done work at church and is a very useful guy to know.

My car has now gone in for its MOT. Last time we were in Bath using my car we had warning lights come on. Chris checked with the mechanic to see if we were OK to drive home and he’s assured us it would be a sensor not a brake failure. Let’s hope he’s right and it’s resolved as easily as the oven but it will be another bill tomorrow!

If only life was as simple as these Cosmos giving us joy every day through the summer and into Autumn and the hope and anticipation of daffodils coming up in the Spring.
