The accidental finding

The distant river

It's the Severn, framed by the trees of Standish wood, near Randwick. My colleague A and I had decided, ages ago, to go for an autumn walk. Sickness and family / vaccination duties had got in the way, but at last we were both free. It was a beautiful woodland walk along trails, with occasional views outward. We got a bit lost and had to retrace our steps at times, so ended up doing 22,000 steps. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

What was not so enjoyable, earlier, was defrosting the freezer. The task was long overdue. However, now it's done and the contents duly listed because there are still lots, we've decided to buy a new one with a door alarm, so we don't keep leaving the door open, causing glaciation to occur. The only model that suits, however, is black. As the door colours in our kitchen don't match anyway, it's not a massive problem.
