Balloons in the dark
are a beautiful sight to
see in Yuma - Yeah!

Saturday night was Desert Glow at the Ray Kroc Stadium. My brother and I headed into town at 5:30 PM to find a place for ourselves in the bleachers.

This is the 33rd annual Colorado River Balloon Festival with the Desert Glow as the premium event. I was surprised at the number of people attending. It made a big job for local police to get us all parked. This is definitely a family event and is attended by people of all ages. Around the stadium were rides and food and merchandise, especially for the children.

Admission was $3.00 per person and a non-perishable food item for the local mission. We made our way through the crowd and into the bleachers just as the sun was setting.

We managed to find seats in a spot where I could look over heads and get some shots. We noticed that the balloon crews were having a struggle sometimes keeping their balloons tethered in a bit of a wind. As the evening got darker the balloons got brighter with their flames flaring.

We didn't stay for the fireworks but took our leave when the balloons were ended. We managed to find the car in the dark and off we went for home. It was a lovely event!

Today is my brother's birthday. We'll have a quiet Sunday on the 'estate'.
